Life’s Guardian: Squirrel’s Sacrifice in Zagros
The forest fires in the Zagros Mountains, where oak trees are being destroyed, inspired a painting depicting a squirrel burying its acorn in the ground instead of consuming it. The squirrel does this to protect the tree from the fire.
