Fatemeh Nazardokht portrays Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, a prominent Indian nationalist lawyer and anti-colonial activist, through her artwork. Gandhi, with his leadership in a nonviolent campaign, successfully achieved India’s independence from British rule. He later became an inspiration for civil rights and freedom movements worldwide. In an international art competition held in India, she creates an illustration of Gandhi engaged in writing and deep contemplation. In this artwork, she captures his lean physique, portraying his simple lifestyle, and emphasizes his prominent intellect by enlarging his head. Ultimately, she achieves the honor of winning third place in the competition.
