Mohammad Filali, born in 1949, went to Rabat at the age of 19 to pursue his talent. In 1969, he decided to sell his cartoons to the Opinion newspaper to make a living. They quickly hired him, and his works gained more attention every day. He criticized the United States for the Vietnam War and also the Algerian government. As a result, he once managed to survive a kidnapping attempt, but later was involved in an accident.
